We are happy to announce the 5th World Peace Summit - The Message of His Holiness Swami Madhavananda & Mahatma Gandhi, that will be held in Ljubljana - Slovenia, 13th- 15th October 2006.
It will be one of the most significant and historic international events to be held this year for World Peace, the Environment, Health and Youth. The World Peace Summit meets under the aims of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, the principles of the Earth Charter, and the universal peace message of two of India’s most influential spiritual luminaries, His Holiness Swami Madhavananda and Mahatma Gandhi.
Today we stand at a decisive juncture in the Earth’s history a time when humanity must choose its future, thus the aim of this Summit is to awaken the consciousness in our modern age, to the most significant issues that challenge our world - World Peace, Protection of the Environment, Health and Youth. The Honorable Mayor of Ljubljana, Ms. Danica Simšič has courteously given her Patronage.
This is the 5th International World Peace Summit to be initiated by His Holiness Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda. This year it is being hosted by the Yoga in Daily Life Association and Yoga Union of Slovenia in conjunction with the World Peace Council of Swami Madhavananda.
Attending the Summit will be dignitaries from around the world, including leaders from various Faiths and Cultures, Heads of State, as well as Representatives from NGO’s. It will be a day of inspiration, learning and practical outcomes to determine how to cultivate more peace in the world - peace between individuals, peace between communities and peace between nations. Outcomes will also be determined for Protection of the Environment, Youth, Healthy, Education, as well as Ethical and Moral principles for Tolerance amongst Religions, Respect for every Culture and Understanding for every Nation – essential milestones towards achieving lasting World Peace.
We will be happy if you can join us in October in Ljubljana!
The proceeds of the conference will go to the Education of Women Program at the Jadan School in the state of Rajasthan in northern India.
