The 21st of September was established in 1981 as the International Day of Peace by the United Nations General Assembly. Two decades later, in 2001, the General Assembly unanimously voted to designate the day as a period of non-violence and cease-fire every year.
On the occasion of International Earth Day on Friday, 22 April 2022, Sri Swami Madhavananda World Peace Council, in collaboration with Yoga in Daily Life USA, hosted a virtual Earth Day Summit on the topic, 'Sacredness of Nature and the Web of Life'.

International Conference and World Peace Prayer marking 75th anniversary of the Republic of India, held in Strilky, Czech Republic.
An international virtual conference titled Making Peace with the Earth was held on 10 November and further events for the 2021 World Peace Summit took place on 11 November, commemorating the 18th anniversary of Sri Swami Madhavananda's mahasamadhi (final liberation).
