The Sri Swami Madhavananda World Peace Council in collaboration with Yoga in Daily Life USA and the International Day of Yoga Committee at the United Nations is hosting an on-line summit as part of the UN Water Conference 2023 and in honor of the United Nations decade dedicated to water. All are welcome to join!


VIENNA, 2 October 2015 – While world leaders are proclaiming an historical post-2015 Agenda with partnership engagements for the Sustainable Development Goals at the United Nations in New York, more than 200 delegates and representatives, from NGOs and academia around the world, have gathered in the United Nations in Vienna to commemorate the International Day of Non-Violence.

Organising the event was the Chairman of the "Mahatma Gandhi Birthday Commemoration Committee" Shree Shreeman Naginbhai Neil G. Patel, who also represented New Zealand Yoga in Daily Life and the Swami Madhavananda World Peace Council.

"Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The General Assembly of the UN has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples."

The seeds for the Sri Swami Madhavananda World Peace Council : Project for Reconciliation - Journey for Peace and Friendship Honouring the Ancient Culture and Living Wisdom of the Aboriginal Peoples of Australia April 17-27, 2011 were sown by Paramahans Swami Maheshwarananda in April 1995 more than 15 years ago in Queensland, Australia.
